From walks with monkeys to picnics in the park, we'd love to see your adventures - share your experiences by tagging #stokecation and #MyStokeStory.
Please note that the situation is changing daily and whilst we’re working hard to keep the information up-to-date, please do check with attractions and venues before you travel to ensure they’re open and whether pre-booking is required.
In light of COVID-19, everyone's health and safety continues to be the most important thing and it is important that we remember to look after each other, ourselves, and the places around us.
The city’s visitor attractions are beginning to open up and welcome us back in their own unique ways. Visiting procedures will be a little different from usual - from pre-booked time slots to one-way routes, our attractions are taking great care to ensure that there are measures in place to help you enjoy your days out safely with confidence.
WE'RE GOOD TO GO
When planning your trip, look out for the "We're Good to Go" logo - which is a new industry standard mark which lets you know which businesses have made necessary changes to their day-to-day workings, including social distancing measures and staff training. Keep an eye out for the following mark when planning your trip online.
We have also highlighted the measures taken by attractions to ensure your safety on the individual attraction's pages on this website. Simply have a look at facilities listed under COVID-19 Response.
VisitEngland have also pulled together a few simple steps to make sure we can enjoy our days out as safely as possible and that we’re all doing our bit to tread lightly and travel responsibly:
SIMPLE STEPS TO ENJOYING A DAY OUT
- Before you make your trip, check what facilities are open - like toilets and car parks - so that you're not caught short.
- Before you visit an attraction, check online to see if you need to book a time slot.
- Some of the more popular tourist hotspots will be very popular. Why not try somewhere a little different and discover a hidden gem where there won't be as many people?
- Keep two metres apart from anyone outside of your household (one metre plus from 4 July) - this not only applies to walking, but running, cycling, sitting, and sunbathing too.
- Wear your face covering at all times when using public transport like buses, trains, taxis, and minicabs.
- Make sure you have a bankcard: many outlet are currently only accepting cashless payments - you don't want to miss out on that ice cream!
- Take hand sanitiser with you - you don't know where will be open for you to wash your hands.
- Leave the car behind where possible and visit local attractions by walking or cycling.
