In Stoke, let’s face it, we can’t guarantee you a rain free Half Term. But fear not! We’ve got a silver lining – or should we say, a velvet curtain? The city is a hub of entertainment with enough theatres and indoor events to keep you busy in the (unfortunate) event of a rainy week.

Hollywood has come to Stoke this February Half Term with the much loved Gandeys Circus bringing you its Hollywood Spectacular! This show truly has it all- from gravity defying roller-skates and adrenaline pumping motorbikes to the glitz and glam of Hollywood and the much loved Bippo the Clown- Gandeys Hollywood Spectacular will have you on the edge of your seat.  You won’t want to miss this, so head on down to the Trentham Estate to join in on the fun from the 9th – 25th of Feb.

Join 024 Dance and embark on a journey through time as dance companies from all over Staffordshire, Cheshire and the North East take over the Regent Theatre stage from the 3rd – 14th of Feb, to perform in celebration of this years theme: Through the Decades.

Unleash your child’s creativity (and burn off some energy) this half term with two exciting Dance and drama Workshops hosted by the Mitchell Arts Centre, funded by Tesco Community Grants.

Calling all superheroes! The MAC has something special in store for your little caped crusaders. The Superhero Dance and Drama Workshop is an action-packed event that promises a day filled with excitement, creativity and of course, lots of dancing!

This workshop is a fantastic opportunity for kids to channel their inner superheroes. From dynamic dance routines inspired by their favourite characters to engaging drama activities, this workshop will keep them on their toes – literally!

Step into the world of Mulan with the enchanting Mulan Dance and Drama Workshop. This event offers a unique opportunity for kids to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of this legendary story. From dynamic dance routines to dramatic storytelling, children will get the chance to explore their creativity while learning new skills.

Running on the 14th February 13:30 – 15:00, these workshops are a great way for kids to burn off their energy while taking a well deserved break from school!

Feeling Creative? Luckily for you, Stoke is renowned for its rich cultural heritage and is gearing up to host a series of arts and craft events that promise to ignite yours and your little ones creative sparks. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or trying something new for the first time, these events are crafter to inspire and unlock your potential.

Emma Bridgwater is opening it’s doors to the decorating studio every day this Half Term! Book in to create your own unique design on your chose piece of Emma Bridgwater pottery to take home and treasure forever. If you’re more of an early bird you can book in for a morning session and start your day the creative way.

World of Wedgwood welcomes you during the school holidays to come to the decorating studio, for both adults and children to get creative with ceramic, paint and glaze! Or book on to the Play with Clay, also running over February Half Term and get the chance to throw a pot on a Potter’s Wheel!

The Staffordshire Wildlife Trust are back at World of Wedgwood this half term with Wild & Crafty! Take your little nature lovers on the 15th of February for a fun filled day of FREE hedgehog inspire crafts. Get stuck in and create your own seedling hedgehog and nature collage to take home as a reminder of your fun filled school break.

The learning doesn’t stop just because school’s out! Take your adventure seekers to Stoke-on-Trent’s museums and exhibitions to make the most of your downtime by opening the doors to discovery!

Step back to the carboniferous period, 100 million years before the dinosaurs. Visit tropical forests and swamps teeming with bizarre and ferocious ancient monsters. Meet the dinosaurs’ distant ancestors, the very first reptiles, the largest creepy crawlies ever to live, and prehistoric animals unlinke anything you’ve ever seen before, all at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery! Open Wednesday to Saturday, this is a must-see for prehistoric monster fans of all ages!

Not a fan of ancient monsters? Don’t worry, we have something for you to! What better activity to do in Stoke than exploring it’s rich history of pottery. Middleport Pottery provides a self guided tour of it’s factory. Built in 1888, there is endless history to explore.

If you prefer a guided tour head over to the Emma Bridgwater Factory on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday and enjoy a guided tour and meet the jigger, jollier, fettlers, casters and decorators who’s traditional skills and craftmanship go into creating every beautiful piece of handmade Emma Bridgewater pottery.
