Emma Bridgewater Factory Tour

Head on a fantastic factory tour at the Emma Bridgewater factory! The tour will take you around the heart of this delightful Victorian factory on the banks of the Caldon Canal. Learn about the process that sees each of the 1.3m pieces of pottery produced annually by the factory still pass through 30 pairs of hands. Talk to the skillful workers including jiggers, jolliers, fettlers, casters and decorators as they display the traditional skills and craftsmanship that go into creating every beautiful piece of handmade and hand decorated Emma Bridgewater pottery.

Tours available: Monday to Friday – 10am and 11.30am and Monday to Thursday at 1.30pm.  Tours lasts approximately one hour. Booking in advance is required.

Shopping:- There's a gorgeous factory outlet stocking a wide range of seconds and discontinued lines including tableware, cookware and textiles at reduced prices. There is also a lovely gift shop selling the newest designs . For the collector or avid fan they have the occasional sample and one off pieces.

Kitchen Cafe:- Relax in the cosy cafe which serves fresh, simple and tasty food, often inspired by Emma Bridgewater’s own recipes. The cafe is a lovely place to meet with family or friends and relax over a delicious, home cooked lunch or enjoy tea and cakes.

Decorating Studio
Decorate your own unique piece of Emma Bridgewater pottery in the decorating studio. Perfect for a unique gift, souvenir, birthdays and school groups - not only for children! Booking in advance is required.  Time Slot: 1hr 30mins.
